Hope you’re all enjoying your summer! Ah, gotta go!
SO…the big Pancakes and Booze Art Show is coming up on April 10th and I’ve been steadily working on ideas for my body painting model, Adrienne. I went through all kinds of ideas from paisley and Tiffany glass to gemstones and glitter but I’ve finally figured it out. Back in January, Pantone announced that the Color of the Year was Radiant Orchid (you’ve seen the pinkish purple hue on many-a-hair-do I’m sure), and it hit me… Radiant Orchid + orchid drawings from my Floral Sketchbook + powdered white muses = body painting. I’ve included some visual aid to show you how I reached my conclusion:
3/28/2014: AS220/95 Empire’s Black Box Karaoke Flea Market celebrated the Market’s 2nd birthday; there wasn’t any karaoke but I feel like that was because of the weather…
Need I say more? Oh yeah…

Little Cages, is so entitled, because one night I stayed over my Gramma’s house and as I tucked her into bed for the night so she could read her true-crime novel and pet her cat, Heidi, sleepily she asked me to take off her glasses. “Little cages, get these little cages off of me…” Somehow that resonated with me and in ode to her so came the blog name. Now it’s time to take off another pair. Ttyl.
March 22, 2014: ♫ It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to, cry if I want to… ♫ No need for tears here, I’m 24! Weird! Mama and I are traversing New York, stopping by an art gallery in a Presbyterian church to drop off a piece for an upcoming show (Freedom of Fantasy, April 26, 2014), looking at interesting machines, and riding in fast cabs. Now we have to look for food…ttyl! Stay tuned for updates! :D
This month’s flea market was a total success – sold a whole bucket of roses, a pair of cherub-styled rain boots, an original print by yours truly, and a Mickey Mouse Yahtzee. There was a good crowd this time around and I can’t wait for the next one in March! :D
Just started this last night. Jeremy Froncek, I’ma make you famous…
Recently a drawing of mine was Googled and I was soon approached with an offer to license it for a book project in Canada. Here is a link to the project, Melissa Nichols’s Day By Day. The book is being funded through Kickstarter so I wish Melissa good luck and it was an honor to have a small part in it!
Okay, okay, okay so I’m a terrible blogger. I don’t regularly post things as they occur and my posts are sometimes few and far between but bear with me as I play catch-up! Christmas-y things 0f 2013: a visit to the National Shrine of La Salette in Attleboro, MA; RISD Catering crew goes ham at holiday party’s photo booth, Shakes and I make a gingerbread village complete with wild animals, Mama and I wearing BetsyandChlö Xmas tees at the AS220 Black Xmas Flea Market, “Grammatical Error” bookmarks that I didn’t give away while we we there. Oh, oh yeah…see ya next year!
